Peer Review Process
1. Submission of Manuscripts
- Initial Submission: Authors submit their manuscripts online through the journal’s submission system. The submission must comply with the journal’s guidelines and include all necessary information.
- Initial Check: The editorial office performs an initial check to ensure the manuscript meets the basic requirements and follows the journal’s guidelines.
2. Editorial Review
- Preliminary Assessment: The editor-in-chief or assigned editor reviews the manuscript to determine if it fits the scope of the journal and meets the quality standards. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria are rejected at this stage.
- Plagiarism Check: The manuscript is checked for plagiarism using tools such as Turnitin. Manuscripts with a similarity index above 25% are returned to the authors for revision or rejected.
3. Peer Review
- Reviewer Selection: The editor assigns the manuscript to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. The selection is based on the reviewers' expertise, availability, and absence of conflicts of interest.
- Double-Blind Review: JEMABETSOS follows a double-blind review process, where both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous to each other.
- Reviewer Reports: Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on its originality, methodology, significance, and clarity. They provide detailed comments and recommendations: accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject.
- Reviewer Timeline: Reviewers are typically given 2-4 weeks to complete their review. Extensions may be granted if necessary.
4. Decision Making
- Editorial Decision: Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editor makes a decision: accept, accept with minor revisions, revise and resubmit, or reject. The decision is communicated to the authors along with the reviewers’ comments.
- Revisions: If revisions are required, authors are given a specified timeframe to revise and resubmit their manuscript. The revised manuscript may be sent back to the original reviewers for further evaluation.
5. Final Decision and Publication
- Final Acceptance: Once the manuscript meets all the requirements and revisions, it is accepted for publication. Authors are notified, and the manuscript is sent for final editing and formatting.
- Proofreading: Authors review the proofs of their manuscript for final corrections before publication.
- Online Publication: The final version of the manuscript is published online in the next available issue of JEMABETSOS.
6. Post-Publication
- Corrections and Retractions: If errors or ethical issues are discovered after publication, the journal will issue corrections or retractions as necessary.
- Feedback and Engagement: Authors and readers are encouraged to provide feedback and engage with the published content to promote scholarly discussion and improvement.
